ABOUT ME
Crystal Vargas

MY BACKGROUND
I was born and raised in our beautiful city.
Most of my work experience was in the Customer Service industry. Later, I donated twelve years of my life to personal care giving in my home, caring for those with terminal illness, mental health issues, brain injury and geriatric issues including Alzheimer's.
Circumstance took me to Quebec in 2018, and under the inspirations of Jean Chretien, Preston Manning and Jack Layton, a political journey began that would have me running against the then Speaker of the House, Geoff Regan.
By 2020, my advocacy and activism roles really took off as I put my passion for social justice and human rights to the ground running.
Upon the advisement of Preston Manning, I enrolled In Carleton University to study transnational law in human rights, international relations and religion.
I have spent the last three years traveling the country researching the unhoused and displacement crisis "getting up front and personal" with the issues and networking with various agencies in an effort to find ways of filling in the gaps. In April 2024, I founded a not-for-profit, FrameWorks Housing Society, and have been offering outreach to anyone who needs it.
Now, here I am...
I am running as an Independent Candidate to offer another choice, my focus and
undivided attention to your concerns and needs.
My grassroots, human-centered approach is this: by housing and nurturing the health and
well-being of our most vulnerable, we can pave the way to economic stability through
reallocation and redevelopment that benefits us all.
We do this by making sure we are all well and healthy, providing training and job creation
that promotes a sense of self worth, dignity, productivity, and belonging as a contributing
member to our economic growth and national GDP.
I have dedicated my career to advocating for policies that address economic growth and
systemic inequities by fostering innovation to create opportunities for the marginalized and
most vulnerable peoples in our community.

MISSION STATEMENT
Empowering Through Equality and Opportunity
My mission is to create an environment where equality meets opportunity. I believe in making a difference by ensuring that every individual, regardless of their background or challenges, has the chance to thrive. This is a space to learn more about the services I provide, the stories of the individuals I've worked with, and the impact we've made in our community.
